Day 5: I Like Space Pens.....Do You Like Bobs?

Well day 5 went off without a hitch.......yea.....that’s how the story will go from now on. This was the first big location scene we had to do and it went very well. We kept the colours on bob very muted and the make was done to show this, he has a lot of greens and blues on him rather than colours we associate with life such as red and yellow. once again the colour grading on kyle was the opposite with us giving contrast to bobs cold pallet.

Next Up...... Scene 7.....and we Shoot people in the head

Day 4: All about TV's, Eyeballs and look like your sleeping!!

Day 4 started out very well, with some pick-ups from scene 6, We set out to film scene 7 upto the point where MC sees Bob in the camera footage and runs off. once again its a very quite scene inwhich there is no speaking, only the dim sound of the TV running tapes of old news footage, this scene in none the less important as it serves as a "pseudo" flashback of the events passed, through the use of news footage hes watching.

Day 2: If there was a bathroom hot enough!

Day 2 of our ?? day shoot, we did scene 6 this time, which is one of my favourite scenes in the film, and it involved alot of "faked" photos of dead people......and one spy

We kept the colours very cold with alot of blue and green, so as to play out the meaning of what this scene is about

ITEM 1..........Ye olde Rifle

After thinking about what the MC would have in his house or surrounding area to fight zombies with, we hit a wall........this is Australia not the US and last time I checked there aint many guns lying around. So we came up with the idea that he has this old winchester rifle he may of found in a case somewhere. As you can see, its actually just a fully working replica that we've painted to make it look "old". Now he oly shoots this gun 3 times in the movie, this is for one reason.......Ammo, he doesnt have much and it would be very hard to come by in any of the cities in OZ

ITEM 2
The UN helmet

This is a pretty small item, but its important to the films back story. after the outbreak the UN sends peacekeepers into calm the violence

This is seen in the TV "flashback scene" where the MC is watching some old tapes of news reports. and there are some shots of un soldiers on patrol just before they get attacked.

Now the film is underway, the script is almost finished; the whole thing is being storyboarded and countless conversations have taken place about this and that.

But one of the most important details is a big one……..what will the zombies look like?

How did they die?

What is it that brings them back to life?

These are all questions that need answers, and I don’t have any yet

Meet Kevin

For the 4th scene the main character comes across a sad scene on the side of the road, a disabled car with a flat tire, the driver a little way down the road….rotting in the hot sun

I asked Shannon if I could have a dead corpse……she said “how rotten”

Meet Bob

The zombie that the MC befriends is called “bob” it’s not his real name, just the “pet” name that’s been given to him out of lack of information

Bob will be played by Joshua Nooteboom a good friend of mine and a real champ who let us cast his face

Synopsis of the movie in question
After a devastating zombie apocalypse a man moulds out a small but content life for himself, somehow managing to live a relatively normal existence

The movie is about one person, no other actors, only the one guy and the death that surrounds him. It’s not an action movie, he’s not a hero, he gets scared and will run away and he doesn’t run around guns blazing. All he does is live. And he’s quite good at it too.

Across the course of this movie we see his patterns, lifestyle and we get to meet the most important aspect of this movie, a zombie (called bob) that he’s formed a strange attachment to, even to go as far as befriending it! It’s a vehicle of his madness. it allows us to see what kind of person he’s become.
